Kala Vandanam is honored to present an excerpt of Ritu – The Seasons at the 14th Fall Festival of Indian Dance presented by Dakshina Dance Company in Washington D.C.
I bow to the wheel of six seasons
Cycles of birth and death
Each season bestows gifts
Enchanting our hearts
Bringing abundance to our earth
Inspired by Kalidasa’s 4th century Sanskrit work Ritu Samhara and Vivaldi’s 18th century Italian work Le Quattro Stagioni, Kala Vandanam’s Ritu – The Seasons brings out the beauty of each season through an original Bharatanatyam work.
Ritu – The Seasons will be performed by a cast of aspiring Twin Cities Bharatanatyam dancers.
