Enjoy the opportunity to learn from one of the world’s most distinguished Bharatanatyam artists, Leela Samson, in a professional setting. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from and spend time with this master artist during her visit to the Twin Cities with her company, Spanda Dance Company.

Due to the limited time available, the learning pace will be fast and focused.

6pm-7:15pm – “Dynamics of Bharatanatyam – Searching for the Perfect Line” – an exploration of the geometry of Bharatanatyam, and how these shapes weave together in solo and group work. Recommended for Bharatanatyam dancers with a strong foundation in nritta, e.g. have learned a Thillana. $25

7:30pm-8:45pm – “Sahitya – The Beauty of Languages in Bharatanatyam” – an exploration and demonstration of the languages used in Bharatanatyam, and how each lends grace to the form. Recommended for Bharatanatyam dancers with 5+ years of Bharatanatyam experience, and have learned a varnam or equivalent. $25
